NEW FIGURE
, Major-General Edward Hand, by special commission for Rock Ford Plantation, the general's home in Lancaster, PA. Born in Ireland, Hand served with the British 18th Regiment of Foot at Fort Pitt during the French & Indian War. He settled in Lancaster and served the American Patriot cause during the War for Independence, leading a crack rifle regiment and later becoming Washington's Adjutant General.


November 2009
After a busy summer and fall, Leddy & Slack has completed three new additions to our toy soldier line.

In our new WWII range, an Officer at Attention joins the 3225th QMC Private released earlier this year.

For the Hingham Historical Society in Hingham, Massachusetts, we have completed a new figure of Revolutionary War Major-General Benjamin Lincoln and a version of our standard running figure painted in the colors of the 1770s Hingham Militia.

Leddy & Slack are pleased to offer another addition to our range of buttons for the 18th-century reenactor. Specially created for the 42nd Royal Highland Regiment, our small buttons with a crown device (for waistcoats and gaiters) are now available for sutlers, reenactors and other interested organizations and individuals.

A broad selection of Leddy & Slack fine tin soldiers is now offered by Memphis Toy Soldier in Memphis, TN. Owned by Mr. Norman Rodriguez, Memphis Toy Soldier maintains displays at antique malls in Memphis, Tennessee and Oxford, Mississippi. The company also maintains a mailing list and attends major US toy soldier shows throughout the year.

Leddy & Slack are pleased to introduce a new addition to our growing range of reenactor accessories. Specially created for the 42nd Royal Highland Regiment, our 42nd RHR regimental coat buttons are now available for sutlers, reenactors and other interested organizations and individuals.

Green's Collectables, a toy soldier dealer in New Jersey, has begun carrying a selection of Leddy & Slack's fine tin soldiers. The figures will be on display at Mr. Green's tables at several toy soldier shows in the Mid-Atlantic this spring. The shop is located at 46 Warren Trail in Denville.

December 2007
On December 13, the 69th Infantry held its annual black tie ball and silent auction. Leddy & Slack donated a variety of figures to the auction which raised over $250 for the Friends of the Fighting 69th. The organization assists wounded veterans of the regiment and provides financial aid to families after the loss of a soldier in the line of duty.

November 2007
Leddy & Slack announce the opening of its new eBay Store at http://stores.ebay.com/Leddy-and-Slack-fine-tin-soldiers. The store offers customers a view of our current inventory and a quick and easy buying experience. 10% of items over $50 is donated to the Wounded Warrior Project which offers assistance to severely wounded veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan.

Leddy & Slack are proud to present General Ulysses S. Grant, commissioned by the Grant Cottage State Historic Site in Wilton, New York, in commemoration of General Grant's 185th birthday. The figure depicts Grant in early 1864 as a three-star general, wearing his baggy private's coat with the stars sewn onto the shoulders. Included in each box is a description of the general's physical appearance and character offered by Colonel Horace Porter, Grant's aide-de-camp during the Wilderness and Petersburg campaigns.

Spring 2007

Red Mill Museum Village in Clinton, NJ, has joined the Leddy & Slack family. The gift shop carries several figures from our Types of the American Revolution range, both painted and unpainted. The Red Mill Museum Village sits on 10 tranquil acres in western New Jersey not far off I-78. The historic 1810 mill forms the centerpiece of the site, and other historic buildings include a blacksmith shop, carriage sheds, an 1860s schoolhouse, and buildings relating to the area's 19th century limestone quarries.

Leddy & Slack welcomes Vicksburg National Military Park as the second National Park (and first national Civil War site) to carry our fine tin soldiers. Located at a strategic point along the Mississippi River, Vicksburg was the site of a lengthy siege by Union troops under General U.S. Grant which ended July 4, 1863. This is Leddy & Slack's first retail location outside New York and New Jersey, and we are pleased to kick off 2007 with such an historically significant addition to the Leddy & Slack family.

Leddy & Slack's Christmas Soldier is now available as a handsome tree ornament. Packaged as the others singly or in sets, the new fellow comes complete with an ornament hook attached to the top of his bearskin hat.

Leddy & Slack fine tin soldiers are again available on eBay. From the home page, you can search for "Leddy & Slack" which will bring up all items currently offered at the auction site. You can also add member ID "leddyslack" to your Favorite Sellers list to be notified automatically of our new listings.

May 2006

Grant Cottage State Historic Site has joined the Leddy & Slack family! Located on scenic Mount McGregor in upstate New York, Grant Cottage is the home where General Ulysses S. Grant spent the final weeks of his life, battling cancer while completing his memoir of the Civil War. While the home has been open to visitors since 1890, a new visitor center and gift shop opens this year and will carry Leddy & Slack's American Civil War range.

Leddy & Slack fine tin soldiers are now offered for sale through Left Right Left Collectibles, a toy soldier and collectibles dealer located on Long Island (formerly in Cape Cod). To collectors who frequent toy soldier and miniatures shows on both sides of the Atlantic, Left Right Left owner John Rollins and his daughter Donna Celebi are familiar names and faces.

March 2006

Barkertown Sutlers, Clothiers and Accoutrements, is the newest member of the Leddy & Slack retail family. Located in Western New York, Barkertown Sutlers creates 18th-century uniforms for re-enactors, historic sites, and the motion picture industry. They carry Leddy & Slack figures from the French & Indian War and the American Revolution.

December 2005

Leddy & Slack fine tin soldiers are now available in the gift shop at Historic Rockingham, an historic site in central New Jersey which was the headquarters of General George Washington at the end of the American Revolution. The shop carries our 3rd New Jersey "Blues" as well as a selection of our other Revolutionary War pieces.

Fall 2005

Leddy & Slack fine tin soldiers are now available at the gift shops at Old Bethpage Village Restoration in Old Bethpage, New York (Long Island).
